Little is known about the Master of the Apollo and Daphne Legend except that he was active in Florence at the end of the fifteenth century and was influenced by well-known Italian masters Sandro Botticelli (c. 1445–1510), Domenico Ghirlandaio (1449–1494), and Filippo Lippi (c. 1457–1504).
