Patricq Kroon (1862-1941)
Patrick Kroon (or Patricq Kroon) was a Dutch lithographer, caricaturist, watercolor artist and painter. Born in Voorst as Patricq Heleen Joan Kroon, he signed most of his satirical work with Orion, or with the drawing of a crown. He was active between 1877 and 1941, and was a contributor to magazines like De Ware Jacob, Uilenspiegel, Wereldkroniek and De Kijker. Kroon has also worked as a teacher, and was director of a school in Varik. He has worked in Zutphen, Amsterdam, and eventually settled in The Hague, where he died in November 1941.
