Adrian Schleich (1812-1894)
Adrian Schleich was a German copper and steel engraver.
He was the son of the engraver and inspector of the topographical bureau Johann Karl Schleich (1759-1842) and father of the landscape painter Robert Schleich (1845-1934).
Adrian Schleich studied under Samuel Amsler at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich from November 8, 1824.
Schleich created copper and steel engravings based on designs by Wilhelm von Kaulbach, Engelbert Seibertz and other artists, and also copied paintings by Raphael.
He also worked for the geographical publishing house of the Bibliographical Institute in Hildburghausen.
